Treasurer's DeskFriends, My association with MPF have been since its inception and I have seen it evolving from a five member group to 250 members’ group. I feel fortunate to have been chosen to be the Treasurer this year for such a wonderful organization. This year we were able to collect all membership cheques by 30th June, 2015. This helped me to plan the financial side of each program by allocating the budget much in advance and I congratulate all the Directors for doing each program within the given Budget. None of us can do anything alone and I am no exception. My committee members, the entire Board of Directors and the Trustees of MFCT, with their supportive hands and attitude, have helped me whole heartedly. I am deeply thankful to all of them. I also thank Engg. Bharat ji Somani and his entire team for the wonderful MPF Link, the e-magazine. Wishing you all a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2016. CA. Member's CornerYOUNG GENERATION - A BLESSING OR A THREAT
On several occasions we, as parents, hear or discuss about our growing next generation. We usually come across two different opinions about the young generation. One is that they are extra ordinary, they are living in information technology era, they are well equipped with the various new era gadgets. The other and more discussed opinion is that the young generation is spoilt, they are very casual, no seriousness, arrogance etc. Actually there can be a very big debate on this issue which is very much relevant for all of us. With due respect to both the opinions quoted above, I would like to present my views on this burning issue. My views are based on my general observations and personal experiences which I had while dealing with the students. Are we really treating our children the same way we are brought up by our parents? Are parents showing the children the right path so that they will be blessing for us? Just think of these critical questions before forming your own opinion on the budding generation. We normally see a tendency where parents think that I didn’t get this in my childhood so my kids should surely get those things. We, the new generation parents, normally try to fulfill all the demands of our kids. But at the same time we comfortably ignore the actual necessity of what our kids should get at that point of time. I completely agree that mobile phones have become necessity in our day to day life. Mobile phones really help us to keep in contact with our children wherever they are. But the basic question is what the proper age to give mobile to kids is? Even if we settle on this question the next important question is which mobile should we offer to children? Is always a smart phone justifiable? Even a normal handset having the basic feature of a phone can suffice our purpose. Our kids are provided with everything that they desire and demand. One another example can be of vehicle. Like this we can talk of n number of demands which unfortunately parents are fulfilling without understanding their long term ill effects on young generation. The youngsters today find it very difficult to accept ‘no’ for any of their requirements. If they are habituated since their childhood to get only those things which they really need, then they will also demand only those things which are really useful for them. I feel the young generation is not spoilt, they are not casual. If we explain them what is right and what is wrong, then they can do miracles. Let us teach them that they become good human beings well equipped with knowledge, resources and most importantly with values. Since we are living in IT era, let us dream with our next generation that we will see a fully developed India with the optimum utilization of talent, brilliance and energy of our children. Let us try to make them very strong pillars to uplift our family, society and overall humanity. Khaaike paan banaraswala?
Talking about Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan (SBA), this is one area the government must also include in its list to improve the sanitization in the environment. In fact, I have read about the fund shortage for the SBA mission. Do we expect any kind of endowment or special kind of charity towards this? Not sure. But there is a prospective revenue model ahead for the government – although we need to work on a micro level. Gone are the days of running behind the trespassers with a mop to clean the dirt. So far, only carrots for the anti- environment elements! Now it is the turn of the stick. Here it goes – fine the spitters! They will take it seriously this way and eventually a fund raising opportunity for the government as well. We definitely can turn our cities, government offices like the MNCs that co-exist in India itself. The comparison is only to point out the co-existence that should enable the movement towards a better living.
